More Yes on 8 banners

Dear Yes on 8 folks,

Why don’t you just make signs that say what you really mean? Try these on for size:

  • I AM A BIGOT
  • I SUPPORT HATRED
  • I HATE GAYS

Because that is what you’re supporting. Hatred against homosexuals. Don’t hide behind your nice sounding “protect marriage” motto. You support hatred of homosexuals. Just come out and admit it if you feel so strongly about it.

But you don’t want to. You want to hide behind your “protect marriage” motto because you’d like to believe that you’re not a hateful person. But you are if you support Proposition 8. You’ll deny equality to others who just want to be married to the person they love. How is that wrong?

While out running errands today, I couldn’t help but notice that there was no shortage of “YES ON 8″ banners floating about on this dreary day. Living at the edge of the Bay Area where people are FAR more conservative than I’m used to is just straight depressing. Right now, it seems that Prop 8 might be defeated but a lot of work still needs to be done to make sure that it happens.

All Souls Eve

Five bags of candy. Not one trick-or-treater.

So much for our first Hallowe’en at the house.  Of course, that might have to do with the fact that I didn’t turn on our porch light.

Hehehehe. MORE FOR ME!! :D Next year, I will probably take The Little Empress trick-or-treating at the local old folks home with the SAHM club.

I’m convinced that we’ve got a few ghosts hanging out right now. I have a feeling one is my Grandpa on my mom’s side — I never met him but everyone says he was a kind soul. I’ve heard that when babies stare off at something and smile, it means that they’re talking to angels. TLE’s been smiling up a storm at nothing today so  I’m sure Great-Grandpa has been visiting.

FWIW, Kyo is utterly unconvinced that there are ghosts in the house. Foo.

I have to admit, Obama’s ideas fill me with hope. But when I think about government in general, the system is so broken that I wonder if he’ll be able to keep his promises.

Still, there’s no question where my vote is going.
